Who Are Your Real Target Markets?
Most of our upline leaders teach us the “shot gun” approach of making your list of 100 warm market contacts and to show your opportunity to strangers and then try to convince them to join you in your business. It is not surprising that most of them, or maybe all of them, will say “NO” to your great opportunity. You can’t sell your business, product or opportunity to someone who is not looking for it. People don’t study for so many years to be just a distributor.
The first rule of marketing is to sell products people want to buy to the people who want to buy them. That’s pretty basic but people, especially network marketers, always ignore this. Your real target markets are those people who are already using or consuming what you’re promoting.
Our 2 real target markets are:
1. Potential Business Partners
- These are the other network marketers.
2. Product Consumers
- These are the people who already spend money for products that are similar to yours.
So the best way to market your opportunity is to sell them to people who are currently or used to be in network marketing and to market your products to the people who are already using products that are similar to what you are offering.
Thanks to the Internet that’s easy to do these days!
